In celebration of FEU’s Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation’s Medicine Week, Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales conducted a Public Speaking Seminar on September 30, 2015 at FEU-NRMF’s Alfonoso Hall. Over 200 students were entertained, inspired and motivated as Pocholo and his team of motivational speakers gave tips and techniques on how to become effective public speakers in the medical profession.
The seminar began with Voice Care Philippines’ Executive Director, Ada Cuaresma, who shared her journey on working with the VoiceMaster to become a motivational speaker and trainer. She also shared the life lessons she has learned along the way, especially as a volunteer. Her public speaking tips were about how to connect with the audience, whom she regarded as the most important part of any public speaking event.
Ada then introduced another member of their organization, JC Garcia, who is Creativoices’ main Talent Manager and Coordinator. As a trainer and host, JC shared tips and techniques on how to carry one’s self on stage during presentation – how to stand, move on stage, and how to use hand gestures for effective public speaking.
Last but definitely not the least, the VoiceMaster finally came up on stage to motivate and inspire the students not only in public speaking, but in pursuing the medical profession with passion and the heart of service for others. He also talked about his career as a voice artist, and his journey to being the VoiceMaster. He also showcased his voice acting talent by imitating famous characters on TV, celebrities and news reporters.
Overall, the public speaking seminar was definitely informative, insightful and meaningful.
