The VoiceMaster Empowers HR Students in PUP’s HR Unravel

On March 5, over 800 HR students from different universities in Metro Manila filled Bulwagang Balagtas of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Sta. Mesa for the event “HR Unravel: Reigning Pinnacle of Digitization”. The half-day seminar aimed to educate the students with the impact of digital transformation in the field of HR, and how it will affect future HR practitioners. The event featured 3 speakers, including Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales.

The VoiceMaster speaks to HR students about knowing your life purpose

Pocholo capped off the event with an hour-long motivational talk entitled “The Empowered Me: Knowing your Life Purpose.” Before getting into the serious stuff, he energized the crowd with his wit and humor, and a series of hugot lines to which the audience roared with laughter.

Pocholo then began to inspire the students by sharing the story of how he started his journey as a youth advocate when he was in first year college. He told the story of his travels to local and international youth conferences, and how those inspired him to build an advocacy around the youth through his experience in radio broadcasting. He also talked about his career as a voice artist, including the failures and successes he encountered towards becoming recognized as the VoiceMaster of the Philippines.

Pocholo also spoke about the greatness of National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal, and how he considers Rizal to be the epitome of Filipino greatness and excellence. He shared little-known historical facts about Rizal, including his travels abroad in the age where there was no airplane or any of the technology available in the modern-day. He challenged the students to go past their limits and strive to be a great citizen, just like Rizal.

Pocholo then transitioned to talk about the concept of “life purpose,” and encouraged the participants to maximize their youth and discover their purpose even at a young age. He even gave them 5 questions to help them determine their life purpose, and instructed them to write down their answer to these questions as soon as they get home.

In the end, Pocholo gave the students the final challenge to not only be inspired by his talk, but to act and be an inspiration to their fellow youth.
