The VoiceMaster Speaks About Greatness to Kinect School Students at the PICC

The VoiceMaster Speaks About Greatness to Kinect School Students at the PICC

Kinect Academy Inc., a school based in Nueva Ecija, organized its first Educational Tour on September 28, 2017. Over 200 High School students travelled to Metro Manila for a day of fun and learning. One of their activities was a Personality Development Seminar, held at the PICC in the morning. Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was one of the speakers during the event.

Pocholo’s talk was focused on entrepreneurship, where Pocholo spoke about the 12 qualities that make a successful entrepreneur. He started his presentation with his own personal journey in building his business. He talked a little bit about the voice acting industry, and also showed a video of his company, Creativoices Productions, when it was featured on national television. He even amazed the students with his ensemble of voice impressions!
Pocholo also shared about the challenges he encountered in building his business, especially when he was starting out. He talked about the politics and monopoly within the voice acting industry, which drove him to build the first and only voice acting school in the country, the Philippine Center for Voice Acting. At this point, Pocholo highlighted the importance of building a business with passion and purpose, instead of only thinking about what’s trending or what will make profit. Pocholo reminded the students that they should discover and pursue what they truly want in life, instead of allowing society to dictate what they should be.

Pocholo touched on the subject of greatness, as he talked about his idol Dr. Jose Rizal. According to Pocholo, Rizal is the epitome of Filipino greatness and excellence, because of what he has accomplished despite the limitations in his circumstances during his time. Pocholo challenged the students to write an article about themselves, to talk about where they have been, why they are here now, and where are they headed.
Pocholo also shared what he calls “8 to be Great,” which are the 8 qualities that make a person great. Aside from having passion and purpose, Pocholo also talked about the value of persistence, of having a vision, and having a heart to share and pay forward. He ended his presentation with the challenge to the students to “do something today that your future self will thank you for.”

The Personality Development Seminar also featured blogger and philanthropist Jay Jaboneta, as well as Filipino motivational speaker and entrepreneur Lloyd Luna.
